Lymph Drainage

The lymph system is a drainage system for the transporting away of tissue fluid and toxins in the human body. To provide this system with external support, we at HAUT- UND LASERZENTRUM AN DER OPER perform the physical therapy of lymph drainage. The term “lymph drainage” originates in the Latin word “lympha”, meaning “clear water”.

Under slight pressure and with circling motions, congested areas are steadily massaged from distal to proximal regions, to promote the draining of lymph and support the venous system. Swellings and congestion in the tissue are thus gently remedied. In the case of localised lymph congestion e.g. after operations, liposuction or inflammatory skin diseases such as acne or rosacea, lymph drainage, either manual or instrument-based using LPG massage, can assist and speed up recovery. In addition, due to its drainage effect, the treatment strengthens the immune system and has a therapeutic effect and is soothing and relaxing thanks to its fine movements. It is recommended to receive at least six treatments at intervals of three to six days.
