ULTHERAPY TO PREVENT SWEATING
If your body produces significant amounts of excess sweat without exposure to heat or stressful situations, you suffer from a condition medically known as hyperhidrosis. At the HAUT- UND LASERZENTRUM AN DER OPER, along with other methods, we use Ultherapy® to treat excessive sweating in the armpit area. The non-invasive ultrasound process, which originates in the USA, sustainably reduces sweating. This is achieved by ultrasound waves, which are delivered at different depths and can disrupt sweat glands for long periods of time or even destroy them permanently, since they cannot regenerate easily.
Reduced sweating can be achieved after just one session. For an optimum result, two treatments should be carried out at an interval of approximately 30 days. The treatment does not result in any period of incapacity. After the treatment, the patient may experience light tingling, numbness, redness or increased sensitivity in the affected area. However, these side-effects are temporary and only last for a few days. Antiperspirants and deodorants should not be used in the armpit area for 72 hours before and 24 hours after the treatment. No aspirin or other blood-thinning medications should be used for a week before the treatment. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic.
The Ultherapy® process originates from the field of cosmetic dermatology, where it is used as a highly effective ultrasound lifting method, which does not involve any incisions or scars. Further information is available here.
