VENOUS DISORDERS (Phlebology)
Venous and arterial circulatory disorders in most cases make themselves known by unsightly and sometimes painful varicose veins or spider veins. Small varicose veins and spider veins can be treated with a non-operative sclerosing of the vessel. For this, a sclerosing agent is injected into the dilated vein using a fine, sterile needle. The treatment is largely painless, but a slight burning sensation may sometimes be felt. Upon request, we can apply a local anaesthetic. After the treatment, a compression dressing is worn for three days.
Alternatively, we can fuse certain kinds of spider veins by laser at Haut- und Laserzentrum an der Oper. For this, however, the skin must not be suntanned, because the laser energy is here directed at the pigmented skin cells instead of at the vessel. Depending on the nature of the findings, several treatments may be necessary. You can find further treatment details here.
