Liposuction

For removing stubborn fat deposits

Liposuction

The distribution of fat cells in our body largely boils down to genetics and our hormone balance. This is precisely why some fat deposits cannot be shifted despite plenty of exercise and a healthy diet. In such cases the local fat deposits are sucked away using an efficient method, which is carried out on an outpatient basis. Practically no other procedure in aesthetic medicine has made as much progress in recent years as liposuction.

The procedure is carried out with tumescent anesthesia, eliminating the risks of general anesthesia. Tumescence is a special saline solution with analgesic and anti-hemorrhagic substances. It is only injected into the area where the fat is to be removed, numbing only the structures to be treated. This prevents neighboring regions such as internal organs from being damaged during liposuction on the tummy, for instance. Once the fat cells are softened after the injection, the fat is sucked out with micro cannulas. The incisions for inserting the cannulas are only three millimeters wide and are concealed in inconspicuous parts of the body and the small scars heal and become almost invisible.

Liposuction with tumescence anesthesia minimizes the risk of thrombosis or embolisms and other potential side effects of general anesthesia. During the procedure you are fully conscious and are able to influence the result, allowing the physician to treat the area optimally. You will receive a bandage directly after the procedure and on the day after the operation we will provide you with compression clothing. Depending on the extent of the liposuction area, you should wear this clothing for two to three weeks to support the tissue and promote the healing process.

This particular method of liposuction is suitable for both men and women who want to get rid of fat deposits which they have been unable to lose through diet and exercise. The targeted removal of fatty tissue through liposuction under tumescence anesthesia is possible on the belly, hips, legs and upper arms.

During the procedure, the patient’s own body fat can be derived on request for later use in injections.
