Lifting with no scalpel required
After the age of 40, an additional sign of the aging of the skin appears besides lines and wrinkles. Due to the reduced collagen and elastin production in the connective tissue and its greater depletion, the skin begins to droop as it succumbs to the force of gravity and loses its elasticity. The lower part of the face in particular begins to sag, which includes the chin, cheeks and the area where the neck begins. This changes the entire appearance of the face, and the youthful V shape becomes more angular in appearance. Previously, these sagging areas could only be toned with a surgical face lift procedure. At HAUT- UND LASERZENTRUM AN DER OPER, we offer an alternative in the form of a totally new method of the thread lift – the Korean V-Lift or Korean Face Lift. The new thread lift is minimally invasive, extremely gentle, virtually painless and does not entail any long recovery periods.
Threads made of polydiaxonon (PDO) and poly-L lactic acid (PLLA) are applied. Both have been used for subcutaneous stitches during surgery for decades and are extremely compatible with the body. Depending on the area to be treated, the threads are smooth, twisted or have tiny barbs. The threads dissolve completely in the tissue within six to eight months and cause a lifting effect in the skin. They stimulate collagen production in the connective tissue, creating an exceptionally natural but intensive tightening and smoothening effect which lasts around one to three years (depending on the suture material). The threads are carefully inserted beneath the skin using very fine, special needles without damaging any nerves or blood vessels. A mechanical system ensures that the threads only leave the needle once they are at exactly the right place in the tissue. Anesthetizing creams or local nerve blocks for each injection ensure that the procedure is almost completely painless for patients.
All signs of aging on the face such as frown lines, marionette lines and laughter lines, loss of volume on the lower lid, sunken eye brows, saggy cheeks, drooping neck and chin lines, “hamster cheeks” and a doughy-looking tissue structure can be treated with this procedure. Sagging regions of the body where other treatments are ineffective, such as the inner upper arms or on the insides and backs of the thighs and the buttocks, can also be substantially toned with threads. This method is also perfectly suitable for toning the belly after birth or extreme weight loss.
Slight swelling may occur for two to three days after treatment and bruises may appear.
