KOREAN METHOD

The HAUT- UND LASERZENTRUM AN DER OPER offers a new treatment for stubborn red or pearlescent stripes, which was developed by two doctors at Chung-Ang University Hospital in Seoul. A study regarding the effectiveness of the method was recently published in the International Journal of Dermatology. The treatment combines so-called intradermal radiofrequency with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as Dracula therapy or vampire lifting. It involves taking blood from the patient and separating the platelets from the serum using a centrifuge. A special process increases the growth factors contained in the serum by up to fifty times. The affected tissue then undergoes internal thermic treatment using the needle electrode of the radiofrequency device before the platelet-rich plasma is injected. The growth factors and targeted injury produce a tremendous healing effect in the skin, which makes the tissue in the stretch mark more elastic and results in coloration closer to that of the surrounding skin. The Korean method is particularly effective on the thighs, stomach and buttocks. The treatment usually requires three sessions at intervals of four weeks – and a little patience: Stretch marks take a long time to heal. It usually takes three to four months for the new, improved tissue structure to become visible.
